Brazil limped to a disappointing draw with Venezuela in their opening match of the Copa America.

The Selecao were expected to demolish their lowly opponents but could only labour to a goalless draw at La Plata.

Brazil’s front three looked lively in the first half creating a couple of openings. First Robinho steered over from close range after clever play from Neymar alowed Andre Santos to cross.

Alexandre Pato smashed the ball against the bar on the half hour and it seemed it was only a matter of time before Brazil would take the lead.

But the goal never came and while Neymar and Dani Alves showed glimpses of their talent, Venezuela were comfortable in the second half and the game ended goalless.

Many were hoping to see the likes of Neymar and Ganso shine for the five-times World Champions but the game was dull and the Copa America has still yet to explode into life.

After three games their have been just three goals in the tournament so far and the two favourites Brazil and Argentina have both failed to impress.

Here’s hoping Paraguay vs Ecuador will provide more entertainment later tonight.
